1. Who we are
Aylo (“we”, “us”, or “Aylo”) is operated by Aylo AI Inc. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Aylo iOS app and our website at ayloai.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. If something here is unclear, write to us at privacy@ayloai.com.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. If you sign in with Apple, we receive your email address and a stable identifier. We do not receive your password.
- Your entries. The text, photos, and voice notes you save as logs, the messages you exchange with Aylo, and the names or notes you keep about the people in your life.
- Subscription status. If you purchase Aylo Plus, your subscription status comes to us through Apple. We do not see your payment card.
Information we collect automatically
- Device & diagnostics. Device model, OS version, app version, locale, and anonymized crash reports — used to keep the app running.
- Limited usage metrics. Counts of sessions and feature use (e.g. “a log was created”), without the contents of what you wrote.
3. How we use it
- To provide the app: store your entries, sync them across your devices, and generate Aylo’s responses.
- To keep things working: diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
- To communicate with you about your account, important updates, or things you asked us to send.
We do not use your entries or chats to train AI models — ours or anyone else’s. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads inside Aylo.
4. How AI responses work
When you chat with Aylo or ask for a reflection, your message and a short window of recent context are sent to our AI provider (currently Anthropic) over an encrypted connection. The provider returns a response and is contractually prohibited from storing it for training or any purpose beyond serving the request. We do not pass your name or email to the provider.
5. How we store it
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest on our servers. We host with reputable cloud providers in the United States. Access to user data is limited to a small number of authorized staff and is logged.
6. Sharing
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Aylo — for example, the AI provider that generates responses, the cloud host that stores your data, and the crash-reporting tool that helps us fix bugs. Each of these providers is bound by contract to handle your data only as we instruct.
We may disclose information if compelled by valid legal process, but we will push back on requests that appear overbroad and notify you when we are permitted to.
7. Your choices
- Delete. Settings → Delete Account removes your account and all associated data within 30 days.
- Access & correction. Write to privacy@ayloai.com if you need help.
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA respectively — including the right to object, the right to portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. The same email address handles those requests.
8. Retention
We keep your entries for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the underlying data within 30 days, except for limited records we are required to keep for legal or accounting reasons.
9. Children
Aylo is not directed to children under 17, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, write to privacy@ayloai.com and we will remove the account.
10. California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to delete your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@ayloai.com or use the account deletion feature in the app.
11. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Aylo after a change means you accept the updated policy.
